The UKL platform (UKL=Untere Klasse, lower class in German〔http://www.autobild.de/artikel/bmw-1er-vorschau-5109646.html〕) is an automobile platform developed by German car manufacturer BMW. It is a modular architecture to suit a range of front and four-wheel drive models. The platform has two derivatives; the UKL1 and UKL2. The former was first used in the 2014 Mini Hatch. ==UKL1 platform== The UKL1 platform is expected to be utilised by up to 11 BMW and Mini models.
